EBP Sensor or Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor for Ford F250 F350 F450 F550 7.3 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel 1997-2003 

This F Truck Exhaust Back Pressure sensor or EBP sensor is fitted to the 1997-2003 Ford Powerstroke 7.3L V8 Turbo diesel engine found in Ford F250, F350, F450 and F550. It is mounted in the exhaust system on these 7.3L powerstroke V8 engines and measures the back pressure in the exhaust system.

If the ICP sensor or Injector Control Pressure sensor fails (and it is known to fail without warning) then you will not be able to start or run the 7.3L Turbo Diesel Powerstroke engine in your Ford F Truck  F250, F350, F450 or F550.

It is a simple job to replace the EBP sensor on your V8 Powerstroke. Some people will even carry a spare in the glove box in case of a failure as these are not readily available from a local dealer. EBP sensor failure symptons include spluttering, boost issues, lack of power, stalling especially under acceleration, RPM fluctuations and possibly a Check Engine Light or CEL and fault code.
